Dear Friends and Family,

We trust that this letter finds you doing well and that you are having a wonderful summer. 

Thank you so very much for your support of our ministry with New Tribes Mission.  Your partnership with us, as part of the team of those taking the Gospel to tribal people around the world, is greatly appreciated.  Here are three recent “Field Flashes” for prayer and for your encouragement:

• PONTIANAK, Indonesia: Eight believers were baptized in a Moi tribal village recently, each one giving clear testimony of their trust in Christ's finished work on the cross.  PTL, none of our missionaries were hurt or killed in the devastating earthquake on the Island of Java.  Please pray for the people of Indonesia.

• MANILA, Philippines: A few days ago some Manobo Bible teachers invited a group of men in their late teens to listen to evangelistic Bible lessons.  Pray that these young men and their friends will listen through all 42 lessons so they may gain a full understanding of the Gospel.

• CHIHUAHUA, Mexico: For 400 years the Tepehuan people have known the name and story of Jesus -- but it isn't the same Jesus recorded in the Bible.  Pray that the missionaries serving among the Tepehuans will clearly and patiently continue to teach the truths of Scripture, dispelling long-held myths and deceptions. And pray also for the listening Tepehuans, that they will come to believe and trust in the one true Jesus.

Our work in the Medical Plan/Life Insurance office continues to go well.  The change-over to an age-based Life Insurance policy for our missionaries is progressing well.  It continues to be a blessing to us personally as we are the “interface” between our missionaries and their Medical Plan.  It is always a joy when we hear that a missionary who has been very sick has been able to return to their field of service.  Also, we would dearly love to be able to travel this summer to visit with churches and individual supporters, but this is impossible because of our work being so busy this summer.  However, Lord willing, we do plan on taking an extensive trip to visit supporters next May or June.  Thank you for your prayers.

Linda had her third spinal epidural injection at the hospital today.  She is finally beginning to experience some relief from the excruciating pain in her hip and leg, after three+ months.  Thank you for praying for her.  She will not be able to travel long distances this year.  We are grateful for the healing that is now taking place.
