January, 2005
Dear Praying Friends and Family,
We
are very thankful to the Lord for each of you who have faithfully prayed
for us and for those who have sent us kind and generous gift of support
each month. Be assured of our sincere appreciation for the vital part
that you play in our ministry with New Tribes Mission.
It
sounds like you are having a very cold and stormy winter this year. Our
weather has been quite mild here in Florida, although the temperature
went down to 27 degrees last night. We had to put old blankets and
sheets on the flowers and shrubs around the house.
Well, now to tell you how things have been here:
Right now we are working on a special project with the Personnel
Department of NTM (New Tribes Mission) to do with the Medical Plan. We
have been going over Policy and issues which are vital to all of our
missionaries. We would appreciate your prayers for wisdom as we, as
well as our various committees need to make some decisions regarding
this project. Thank you so very much.
Our family is well, although this past week was also filled with some
consternation with our son David's humanities classes this term. As it
is/was, he was inundated with ever so much homework, and unable to
continue on with that particular course of humanities which met two
mornings a week, besides his Cisco Networking Courses as well as Novell
courses that he is currently taking. David was kind of in a quandary as
to what to do, so he has now dropped the humanities classes, and is a
much happier "camper" and so are we. It was a difficult decision to
make, mainly because he would have been awarded his Associate Degree in
Cisco...this May 2005. However, if he takes the necessary requirement,
even if it is an entirely different course in the fall term, he will
have earned two Associate Degrees. We did have to go through much "red
tape" to get this cleared up, as he was 10+ hours after the "grace
period" to drop the course. We spent the entire morning, Thursday, at
the college (a part of UCF -- University of Central Florida) to talk to
the necessary folks in various departments to get this cleared up.
Thanks for praying for the boys too which we know you do!
Thank you again for your love, prayers, and kind and generous gifts to
us in this ministry. We consider it a real privilege to be laborers
together with you – with God. How remarkable that God uses all of us to
get His work done here on this earth! We appreciate you more than you
know! You are very special to all of us, and we all send our greetings
to you, and to your dear family. These are indeed troubling days in
which we find ourselves. Many times, we find ourselves thinking that
the Lord will be coming soon.
Take care, and keep warm. Again, thank you so very much for all you do
for us. We truly are grateful to you, and thank the Lord for you.
With much love, |
