...commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. *             2 Timothy 2:2

October  2007

Dear Friends and Family,

First of all, Greetings in the precious name of Jesus, from John and Linda, here at the New Tribes Mission Headquarters.  We are so glad to know the Savior of the world, and to walk with Him each day.  How much better things seem, even difficulties, knowing the Lord, and acknowledging HIM in all that we do.  He certainly gives peace which passes understanding.  Without HIM, we truly could do nothing.

We want to thank you so very much for your prayers for us these days.  As we mentioned in the previous paragraph, we could get rattled and frazzled to know how to fix and adjust medical claims and other such problems which arise in our office, that are out of our control.  “But GOD...” (Eph. 2:4a).  We are reminded that this is a spiritual warfare, and we’re aware that our attitudes, all that we do and say, make a difference to our missionaries, as well as to medical providers, and our co-workers.

We appreciate each one who has shared with us this past month.  We can’t tell you how much that means to us.  We have just had several things go wrong with our car, which has turned out to be quite expensive.  Each gift of support has been especially appreciated, for which we are thankful.

Recent news from the field of Papua New Guinea was thrilling to read.  We continue to be personally encouraged to “keep pressing on” in our ministry with New Tribes Mission.  (Phil. 3:14)

* Kaulong Bible teachers presented the Gospel in one village two weeks ago and will soon complete a series of evangelistic Bible lessons in another village, presenting the message about the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.  Praise the Lord that believers in the Kaulong tribe are busy sharing the Gospel with their own people as well as reaching out to other unreached tribes around them.

Thank you for your partnership with us in this ministry that has an eternal impact on the lives of tribal people around the world.  We thank you once again for your faithful prayers and encouragement.

  Joyfully in Christ,

John & Linda McGhee
