Dear Friends and Family,

The wonderful promise found in the verse above has been a great comfort and reality to us the past two weeks.

At approximately 8:00, the evening of August 23^th Linda’s short term memory suddenly went completely away.  It soon became apparent that she needed medical attention and so we called 911.  At first, the doctor in the emergency room thought that she had suffered a stroke.  However, her memory miraculously came back in about 6 hours.  After extensive tests at the hospital her neurological doctor diagnosed her as having had benign transient amnesia.

According to an article in Merck’s Manual, benign transient amnesia can be described as "Severe global amnesic confusion appears suddenly and lasts from as little as 30 to 60 minutes to as long as 12 hours or more. Attacks begin abruptly, and during their onset, total disorientation except for self is combined with a retrograde memory deficit that can extend back for several years. Gradually, the impairments resolve as the attack subsides. Total recovery is the rule....”

Linda came home from the hospital August the 26^th and we are thankful to the Lord for His healing and grace through this time for us as a family.  All through her time in the hospital she felt Him upholding her with His right hand, and “sheltered under His wings” (Psalm 91:4).  Thank you for your prayers these days.

We are thankful to the Lord for each one who has kindly shared with us gifts in support of our ministry with New Tribes Mission.  Each gift is a real help to us & is appreciated!

We would appreciate your prayers for us regarding our ministry in the NTM Medical Plan office.  We recently found out that it was necessary for us to make a big change, as of September 1^st, for NTM missionaries who are on the Medical Plan and who are living here in the state of Florida, because of a licensing issue.  So far this transition has gone well.  We expect things to be resolved about the license in time to come.  We are also actively working on a project to make the Medical Plan HSA (Health Savings Account) compatible, beginning January 1, 2007.  You may have heard President Bush talking about HSA’s in some of his speeches.  We have a lot more work to do on revising the 2007 Policy and we would appreciate your prayers, for the Lord’s wisdom and leading.

It’s hard to believe that we are already into September, and the summer (up north!) is almost over.  Thank you once again for your faithful prayers and gifts of support of this ministry.
