We Value:

1. The Word of God as our Final Authority

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Evidencing submission to God by gladly yielding to the authority of His Word in all we believe and do.
  • Actively seeking direction from God's Word in our decision making, never choosing contrary to it.
  • Remaining true to the teachings of the Word of God, including those expressed in our doctrinal statement.

Scripture Passages:

  • "For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven" (Psalm 119:89).
  • "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105).
  • "But the word of the Lord endureth for ever" (1 Peter 1:25).
  • "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Timothy 3:16,17).

We Value:

2. Dependence on God Evidenced by Prayer and Living by Faith

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Trusting God to supply the personnel, direction and resources we need to do His will.
  • Glorifying God and demonstrating our dependence upon Him by making our needs known to Him through prayer.
  • Depending on God individually and corporately, not relying on the Mission in place of God.

Scripture Passages:

  • "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:5,6).
  • "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform" (Romans 4:20,21).
  • "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6).
  • "...let your requests be made known unto God" (Philippians 4:6).

We Value:

3. Willingness to Sacrifice for Christ

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Carrying His Gospel to parts of the world where living and working conditions are often difficult.
  • Persevering in completing His task with joy, even in the absence of ease or comfort.
  • Demonstrating that the Lord is worthy of any sacrifice we may be called upon to make for Him.

Scripture Passages:

  • "I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need" (Philippians 4:12).
  • "Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place" (1 Corinthians 4:11).
  • "No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier" (2 Timothy 2:4).
  • "...the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality" (2 Corinthians 8:2).

We Value:

4. A Spirit Controlled Life

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Glorifying Christ in our attitudes and actions.
  • Exercising our spiritual gifts so we can be more effective in ministry where God has placed us.
  • Enjoying freedom from striving and self-effort in our daily life and ministry.

Scripture Passages:

  • "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing" (John 15:5).
  • "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh...If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit" (Galatians 5:16,25).
  • "...as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life" (Romans 6:4).

We Value:

5. Godly Relationships and Interdependence in Ministry

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Obeying God by maintaining the unity His Spirit has provided for us.
  • Glorifying Christ by demonstrating our need of one another as members of His Body.
  • Using teamwork and plurality of leadership effectively to accomplish God's work.

Scripture Passages:

  • "If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others" (Philippians 2:1-4).
  • "That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another" (1 Corinthians 12:25).
  • "Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3).

We Value:

6. A Sense of Urgency in Ministry

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Reflecting redeeming the time as demonstrated by Christ and His apostles in reaching the world with the Gospel.
  • Keeping focused on the eternal value and destiny of souls.
  • Remaining mindful of the immensity of the task before us.

Scripture Passages:

  • "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus..." (Philippians 3:14-16).
  • "For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more..." (1 Corinthians 9:19-27).
  • "Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest" (John 4:35).
  • "I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work" (John 9:4).

We Value:

7. Effective Communication in Evangelism and Church Planting

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Understanding culture and learning language.
  • Communicating the Gospel clearly to the unsaved.
  • Teaching believers the Word of God.

Scripture Passages:

  • "For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?..." (1 Corinthians 14:8-11).
  • "...and when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence" (Acts 21:37-22:2).
  • "...we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God" (Acts 2:11).

We Value:

8. The Certainty that God Desires to Use Any Life

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Encouraging believers that God gives each of His children the privilege of serving and glorifying Him.
  • Providing opportunity for service in NTM based on the grace of God in glorifying Himself through the lives of believers.
  • Having ministry assignments reflecting the diversity of gifts represented.

Scripture Passages:

  • "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called..." (1 Corinthians 1:26-31).
  • "...my grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness..." (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
  • "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus" (Acts 4:13).

We Value:

9. Excellence in What We Do

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Approaching and undertaking each task with resolve to give our very best effort to His Glory.
  • Reflecting the faithful character of God in completing our tasks thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Increasing our effectiveness in serving God at our individual and collective tasks by encouraging training and competency.

Scripture Passages:

  • "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ" (Colossians 3:23,24).
  • "That ye may approve things that are excellent" (Philippians 1:10).
