The Lord
is... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come
to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
August 2009
Dear Friends
and Family,
Thank you so
very much for your support of our ministry. We thank the Lord
for His provision to us through you, and for your faithful
prayers. We are truly grateful for you, and for the way the
Lord meets our needs. All praise to Him. Great is His
faithfulness!
One of our
fellow NTM missionary families who work in the jungles of the
Philippines has been having quite a Gospel outreach to some of
the Banwaon tribal children who play with their children. Each
day between 2 and 20
children can be found on their front porch happily playing with
Legos and toy cars. These tribal children have had a chance to
hear the Gospel and many of them have put their trust in the
Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. Each week they have a Bible
lesson, teaching chronologically from Gods Word. God is indeed
building His Church throughout the world. Praise His Name that
this includes children of the Banwaon tribe.
And speaking of
children, our own children, Jeffrey and his wife, Stefanie, just
arrived back in Florida, after a lovely two week vacation. They
visited Grandma and Grandpa Hansen up in northern Wisconsin, and
they then traveled on to a family reunion for Stefanies family
at her parents home in central Wisconsin. Stefanie met and
renewed acquaintances with family from our side, and Jeffrey met
more of Stefanies family, also spending time with her siblings
in Chicago.
We know we
wrote you all about Davids graduation from University in May.
Then, we have told you about Sarah and her family last month,
but we havent mentioned our son, Tim. We have seen him twice
this year: once in the early spring for a weeks vacation, and
also in May for Davids graduation. Tim is working at Cherrydale
Baptist Church in Arlington, Virginia, as their technology and
facility manager. Tim really enjoys his work.
We asked you to
please pray with us regarding some big changes to our Medical
Plan in our recent letter. We are now in the final stages of
decision making and we would appreciate your prayers. One thing
that is certain, we will continue to have lots of work in our
busy Medical Plan Office. It is our prayer that the Medical
Plan provides the best possible health insurance for our New
Tribes Mission missionaries. We thank the Lord for the
privilege to help our missionaries with their health needs.
Thank you again
for all you do for us.

P.S. John just had retina
surgery this week in his left eye. The retina was torn but
fortunately the specialist was able to repair it before it
became detached.
Then on Wednesday of this coming
week, August 12, he will be having cataract surgery on his right
eye with a different specialist. His eyes, especially the right
one, has been bothering him and getting worse for the past few
months. So we would thank you for praying that all goes well,
and that his vision is restored to normal once again.
Thank you for praying for us,
and for John in particular.
